Riding On The Wing Of The Blessing

I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing, I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Gen.12: 2-3

To God be the glory forever more. Quite a while you will say for regular readers of this column. Thank God for His word which remains fresh at all times, night and day, day-in, day-out.

Today we shall be reviewing God’s words via the above topic. As we commence I want it to be established in your heart that God takes pleasure in blessing His people, infact He is blessing personified. From Him all blessings flow. In Genesis 12: 2-3 He (God) gave a promise to Abraham, to bless him, make him great and above all through him all the families both nuclear and extended will be blessed. To be blessed means to be favoured, preferred, and to lack nothing. The blessing God promised Abraham is not riches, it goes beyond riches. Please note that riches and blessing are not the same. Riches are a produce of blessing. When you are blessed, an evidence or bye product of blessing is riches.

Prov 10: 22 reads “the blessing of the Lord makes one rich and add no sorrow with it”.

The blessing makes one rich, the blessing of the Lord upon your life produces riches. Just as fruit is a product of a tree so are riches product of blessings.

There is another dimension of blessing called “the blessing”. “The blessing is the seed which produces other blessings. When God spoke to Abraham He was talking about “the blessing” that is seed blessing which is able to multiply itself when put in a conducive atmosphere. That is as long as you do what the giver of the blessing demands of you then the seed blessing grows which eventually flows to all the families of the earth.

God said, ensure you pay your tithe and I will pour out such blessing. Please notethe blessing is singular and not plural. This is the seed blessing that has the potential to grow and multiply to become great forest blessings such that you will not have room enough to contain it. Beloved there is a call for you today to reach out for the blessing. When you have the blessing in your life you will never need a miracle because before any need arises in your life there will be plenty of supply to meet it. Always note that when you are truly blessed you do not need a miracle. When the blessing resides in you, increase of children, marriage partner, cars, houses to build, accommodation to live becomes cheap to access, basically because you carry the blessing.

Isaac had it and he became prosperous so much so that the Philistine envied him and worked against his progress. They went and covered the well of water dogged by his father Abraham. However, because he carried The blessing, he dug yet another well and still found water. Beloved when you carry the blessing, your geographical location is irrelevant to your prosperity whether in the heat of Africa or the cold of Europe, as long as you carry the blessing yours is different. It is a situation of you changing things positively and not the location dictating or determining your welfare. Jacob ran away from his bother with a staff but because he carried The blessing, when he was coming back, he came back in two companies. Laban requested him not to leave him because he knew that the coming of Jacob into his life brought the blessing upon him.

Genesis 30:27 reads; And Laban said to him, please stay if I have found favour in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.

Same story goes for Joseph, when he got to the house of Portiphar, the house of Portiphar became prosperous because someone carrying The blessing was with him. Do you know that someone could be you? For you to have The blessing, you must be born again, you must be someone who stay clears off sin and anything the giver of the blessing commands you to stay clear off. You cannot afford to leave without the blessing in your life otherwise it would be a life of struggle with little or no result. Go for The blessing. Ask the Lord today. Tarry; wait on Him for The blessing. Shalom!
