Get In The Word

It is often times said, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going; others say when the going gets tough, the tough gets tougher.

These are words used by people to encourage themselves in times of trials, temptation and challenges which seem not to give way when everything possible seems to have been done. We need to, at all times have a mindset that does not take no for an answer, or give in to defeat, the mindset that will not settle for anything but the best. This surely is the attitude that God expects of His children. An attitude that is always having a positive approach to life.

It is however important to have a foundation for taking this position. This is because naturally, there is a level where having a positive mindset will get one to and can not go further except its foundation is hid or built in the Word of God.

A life without it’s foundation in the word but having all the mindset highlighted above will surely appreciate but at a certain level of growth, it stops and then emptiness begins to set in and if care is not taken, such enviable level reached will become a curse.

Friends, no matter how long you have stayed in the church and engaged in activities, no matter the number of titles you have been given by the church probably because of your commitment to programmes; without the word of God deeply rooted in you, you are just a balloon inflated which is bound to burst sooner or later. A pitiful end is bound to occur.

Please don’t be deceived with praises, and titles; you must be able to have a proper assessment of yourself.

The question is how is your Word life? Do you have the Word of God rooted in you? Do you have the Word of God on the inside of you? Do you see this life through the eyes of the Word? These are questions that demand adequate and sincere answers.

The reason why we have so many carnal Christians and carnal Pastors today is because we all are lazy to get into the Word. A life that is void of the Word will struggle with sin and sinful habit. A life that is void of the Word will seek to be known and acknowledged at all times and takes offence when not recognised.

Remember it had to take Judas to identify Jesus with a kiss for him to be arrested by the chief priest and others, even though he had always lived with them. Does this rings a bell in your mind. It simple shows how simple The Word lived His life on earth as a man. There was no difference between Him and His disciples.

The only way to live a continuous, fulfilled and upward going life, beloved is through Word. David said, “your Word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against you”

Prov.3:1-2 reads, “My son forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of a life (worth living) and tranquillity (in word and outward and continuity through old age till death), these shall they add to you. (Amplified version).

Beloved, to have an all-round victory on every phase of life, you must be soaked in the word so that at any point in time you are under any form of pressure the only thing that comes out of you is the living Word. It may be easy to quote the word in times of prosperity and pleasure but the true test of a person who lives in the word is in the time of pressure.

A foam when soaked in oil under pressure will only bring out oil and not water; this is to say you will only produce what you have on the inside of you when under pressure. Take in the Word, read, study and meditate on the scriptures for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. You and I need the Word living on the inside of us to succeed.

The Word is God’s manual to us for living. We are to operate our lives in line with the Word at all times. You cannot be a Word addict and be a failure; it is not just possible for the living Word will always overcome. Friends, take the word, eat the word, drink the word and above all live the word for it is life now and always.

There is no short route to the promise land than getting in the Word! Shalom!
