The Eagle Believer

Even the youths shall faint, and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:30-31. Today we shall be reviewing the above topic in the context of Isaiah 40:30-31. Youths are known for strength and the pride of the youth is their strength while the pride of the old is their grey hair which symbolized wisdom. Verse 30 reads that even the youth with all its pride in strength shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall; but one issue stands out and is sure, no matter the age or level, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, Beloved, there is potential energy converted to kinetic energy for those that wait upon the Lord. Waiter on God never runs out of strength as God is there is their strength. When their strength drops or runs out they switch over to the strength of the Lord. In the renewed strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. This further brings to bear or to the open the question, why is it that they that wait upon the Lord whose strength is renewed are compared to an eagle. Why not other God created creatures. Please come along.

The eagle is a special bird which has definite rare qualities that stands out from other creations of God even in the bird family. The Most High God declared and likened the deliverance given to the children of Israel with illustration relating it to the eagle; He narrates to them “how He brought them out on Eagles wings.

The Eagle is a bird that have deep penetrating eyes that see far into the distance. The eagle stays high above the sea level and yet sees the small prey it intends to feed on down in the earth. This talks about us Christians having the ability to visionise into the future. As believers, with sound mind given to us by God, we must be able to use this sound mine to the best of what the Most High has given us. We must display strong imaginative tendencies. Aside from this, the eagle is the only bird that can fly towards the sun with it eyes opened. This it does as a protective device against harassment from a particular bird that feeds on it. When it flies towards the sun, the bird pursuing it cannot sustain the chase because it cannot look directly at the sun hence it turns back. As believers, we must at all time be able to fly and not hesitate to reach out to the Sun of Righteous with healing in His wings. In the time of trouble and danger as children of God our confidence should and must always be our Lord Jesus Christ and fly towards Him at all times.

The eagle is a bird that can sour in the heavens, flying without having to flap and struggle to the place of its destination. All it needs to do is to lock the bones in the wings region of its body and off it goes. As children of God, we are expected to have a free flowing relationship with God. We must have the liberty in the spirit and enjoy the benefit of God the Holy Spirit in our lives. Struggle must cease and all cares must be cast upon Jesus our saviour. The eagle also is a bird that can fly in the opposite direction of a strong wind or storm. Friends we need to be like an eagle in this respect, we must be able to stand out and stay on what you believe and have conviction from God on and not join the crowd. You must be able to stand for the truth even when it is unpopular for whoever is with God is in the majority.

Furthermore, the eagle is a bird that have the ability to fly long distance and at a great speed because of its swiftness. God expects us to have stamina for a long walk with God just like Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him. Our walk with God is not a hundred meters dash race, but to the contrary it is a marathon race that continues until Jesus face we see. The Eagle flies long distance and at the same time swift. As believers we must be swift in carrying out kingdom work and not slothful in executing instructions from the captain of our soul.

Eagle as it custom is withdraws to shed off its feathers and replaces it with new ones. As children of God, we must of a necessity have a time of retreat and withdrawal from circulation. We must retreat seldomly with the view of advancing well. The strength and revelation of yesterday about the greater phase you are about to enter into now must be replaced with the with new ones and not one gotten from a friend. Your own blue print must be received. You must have personal retreat to shed off old feathers and pit on new ones.

Finally, the eagle renews it strength as it ages. As believers as our days are so should your strength grows not as diminishing return. Your strength must always be renewed as an eagle. Shalom
