Sow a thought and reap an action, sow an action and reap a habit, sow a habit and reap life style, sow a life style and reap a destiny. Every action springs forth from a thought. The thought of every man matters a great deal, in fact a man is a product of his thought because every action and reaction is product the thought process.
The thought however takes its root from the mind. The mind is the seat of understanding. It is at the mind that decisions are taken. It is at the mind that imagination which is the ability to paint pictures of things to come or anticipated to be done in the future. It is in the mind that is contemplations which is the ability to run over issue in the present to take a decision. Yet it is the same mind we recall event which are past which is the memory to recall event that are gone.
The mind can also be called the soft ware in man. Just like the computer process with the soft ware which can not be seen, so is the mind. The mind is the controlling part of man. If the mind is as a computer software which cannot process of its own except what it has been fed with then we all must be careful with whatever we fed in the mind because it will be processed eventually to come forth as an action.
Proverb 23:7 reads “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Please note that the mind is like a little field that brings forth wild stump, weed and other plantings that are not wanted when left without giving it the required Word attention. So also it is with a little baby, without a formed opinion but derives it opinion by what it sees hear and input from the outside world.
In the light of this, we all have the responsibility to school, tutor and direct our mind to the direction it ought to go otherwise we may get the output not negotiated for.
Romans 12:2 reads “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind
To renew the mind simply means that the mind in time past has been programmed in a particular direction which ought not to be however needs to be reprogrammed in the way it should be. Psychologists in their own world call it rehabilitation. This simply means many of us Christian needs to be rehabilitated to conform to what our manufacture designed us to be from the foundation of the earth which the devil is working frantically against.
Mark 5 recalls the story of a man possessed with demons called Legion. Jesus met the man at the other side after He crossed over to the other side. Jesus healed the man from his demonic oppressed stage. What touched me most is seen in verse 15 which reads
“ then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.
The scripture says in his right mind which is to say that the demon were able to take control of him immediately they took control of his mind. Beloved your mind is very important to whatever you do in life. That is why the scripture says we should guard our heart (mind) with all diligence. The devil can not just take control of your life if you do not give in to the thought it proposes to you. The devil could not take advantage of Eve until she was convinced in her mind that the fruit which God said they must not eat could be eaten for it will empower them to know between good and evil.
Gen 3: 5 reads For God knows hat in the day eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.
This was said by the devil as appealed to the mind of Eve.
Please note that every sin can be stopped at the place of the mind. However anytime you allow thought that can lead to sin to take root in your mind, it sure will eventually lead to sin. I have heard many people say that they have always struggled with the sin of immorality. This can be true especially when it becomes a stronghold in the mind because it a sin that involves both the body and the mind. This can however be tamed early in the place of the mind. That secretary of yours that makes passes at you by the way she looks at you and the short skits she wears is simply working on your mind. All she is doing is to try to fed your mind with sufficient wrong information until your mind begins to lust after her. Sooner than later if you do not stop her from doing this or change her out rightly from your office if it lies within your power, you may eventually get yourself into trouble.
The devil does not have power over you until it takes controlling influence over your mind. Beloved please note that we all have the responsibility to school our mind in the way it should be otherwise we may simply find out that our Christian walk with God become a struggle hence we begin to say it is not possible to live a holy life. We all must school our mind every day. You must programme the word of God in our mind and live by it always.
Philippians 4:8 reads Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worth- meditate on these things.
Outside the highlighted things we are not permitted to mediate on anything else. Be disciplined please school you mind. Shalom
